Mayor Tutunjian Welcomes eLot

June 13, 2007

“Launch event and coinciding marketing program aims to raise awareness among Capital Region residents about the importance of acting locally when it comes to dealing with tons of waste from discarded electronics.”

Troy, New York (June 13, 2007) – Troy Mayor Harry Tutunjian will be joined by other local elected officials and residents at an event to welcome eLot Electronics Recycling, Inc. ( HYPERLINK "http://www.elotrecycling.com" www.elotrecycling.com) to their new location, a 50,000 square foot facility, in Troy, N.Y. at a press event on Friday June 15 at 12:00pm.

"We are thrilled to welcome eLot to the City of Troy," Mayor Tutunjian said. "Climate change is very important discussion currently taking place across the world right now, and to have a premier electronic recycling business move here is important for the entire region, not just Troy. eLot will provide a much needed service to the Capital District, while bringing new jobs and tax base to the City."

“The United States produces nearly 7 million tons of electronic waste each year,” said Todd D’Alleva, eLot Principal. “eLot Electronics Recycling was created as an answer to the waste that we produce in Tech Valley from discarded computers, printers, cell phones, speakers, copiers, PDAs, etc. At a time when most of the country is focusing on being green and issues surrounding sustainability, we are very excited to open this new facility in Troy.”

In addition to the move to Troy, eLot is also offering Capital Region residents the chance to drop off electronics at no charge on June 15 and June 16 during their grand opening.
